Speaker Bio
Robin Caral Shaw, Esq. is the owner and Primary Trainer of the Mediation Training Group (established by Susan Dubow in 2000), the oldest and largest continuing education provider in Florida for mediators and attorneys. Robin has been mediating in Florida since 1998, and is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit, Family, Family, and County mediator who is actively mediating when not teaching programs for the Mediation Training Group or practicing transactional law for a limited number of clients.
Robin is Past-President of both the Association of Florida Mediators & Arbitrators and the FL Academy of Professional Mediators. She is a member of the National Association of Distinguished Neutrals (NADN).
She attended Fordham Law School in NY and transferred to Georgetown Law Center in Washington, DC where she was employed by a Watergate boutique law firm. She did legislative drafting and attended Congressional hearings, and trained as a tax attorney, specializing in Art Law. She then accepted a position in the Law Department of PPG Industries (a Fortune 100 Company) where she was initially Counsel to the Credit and Collections Department and the PPG Foundation, and then became Counsel to the Fiberglass Division, one of four PPG Divisions.
When she relocated to Florida, she focused on contract drafting and negotiating which led her to become a mediator and then a mediation trainer. She is passionate about helping people learn to solve problems for themselves and others, and is expanding her teaching to include CPAs, Realtors, and Insurance professionals to provide them with tools for dealing with difficult clients.
She is a graduate of the NY High School of Performing Arts where she was a Dance Major, enjoyed competing in Judo (holding several national competition medals), and has become an enthusiastic tennis player in recent years.
